Hello, I would like to develop an app for the Gear S3 which would allow me to trigger the basic functions of a transport in a Digital Audio Workshop, in my case Cubase.  This would feature atleast 6 buttons for the play, stop, record, previous marker, and next marker functions, as well as a delete function.  As I understand from similar android apps, pressing a button triggers a midi channel, and this channel is assigned to a function in the DAW.  I have very little scripting experience, if someone could direct me to some resources that would allow me to get started it would be much appreciated.  Alternatively, if someone wanted to develop and sell such an app, I imagine it would be worth their time as I can't imagine it would be very complicated.
